About

Temeka Williams is a singer/songwriter from Toronto, Ontario that communicates faith, strength, openness and optimism through her music. As a child, Temeka's mother noticed her natural ability in creating rhythmic sounds out of pots and pans as a child and encouraged her involvement in worship at her local church. Under the tutelage of Sacha Williamson at York University, Temeka learned the beauty of Jazz and its relationship to the gospel music she already knew and loved. The responsibility of leading a congregation in worship coupled with Temeka's Jazz education formed a place for her voice to develop, mature and ultimately create her own sound.

The sound Temeka has created and built upon over the years can captivate any listener and teleport them to special moments in time. Temeka's guitar, informally known as Sister Rose after her late grandmother, was like a gift from God. Temeka can be found leading worship at her church House of Refuge Ministries or as a guest at others in and around the GTA. She is also a member of the gospel group For The Master and currently teaches both Voice and English as a Second Language.

"Why not use music for good and why not share it with others?”
