Temeka Williams is a singer/songwriter from Toronto, Ontario that communicates faith, strength, openness and optimism through her music. As a child, Temeka's mother noticed her natural ability in creating rhythmic sounds out of pots and pans as a child and encouraged her musical education which eventually led her to be involved in worship at her local church.

 

Under the tutelage of Sacha Williamson at York University, Temeka learned the beauty of Jazz and its relationship to the gospel music she already knew and loved. The responsibility of leading a congregation in worship weekly coupled with Temeka's Jazz education formed a place for her voice to develop, mature, and ultimately create her own sound.
